Alfonso Robert Carrizzo

February 25, 1941 — April 18, 2025

Las Vegas, Nevada

Alfonso Robert Carrizzo- known to most as Bob or Bobby- passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 18th, 2025. He was 84 years old.

Bobby was a fun-loving, social soul with a deep appreciation for homemade Italian food, good movies, music, and time spent with family and friends. He was born February 25th, 1941, in The Bronx, New York, the only child of Adeline "Lee" and Cosimo "Gus" Carrizzo.

At the time of his birth, Bobby and his Mother were living with his maternal Grandparents and Aunts, while his Father-and many of his Uncles- were overseas serving in World War II. It wasn't until Bobby was nearly five years old that he finally met his Father.

During his pre-teen years, Bobby's parents bought land in Brewster, New York, where they built a family home. In Brewster, Bobby enjoyed helping his Father's backyard vegetable garden, visiting with his many Cousins, sneaking drives in Dad's car, and most of all, listening to music-something he would love for the rest of his life.

After graduating high school Bobby joined the U.S Navy in hopes of exploring the world. He served proudly from 1958 to 1962 aboard the U.S.S Forrestal and for most of those years, on the U.S.S. Saratoga. He served in the Mediterranean and loved being on the water, he often spoke of the sunrises and sunsets over the ocean, and said they were his favorite sights to see.

Once during his service, Bobby got homesick for a family meal and simply decided to go home- without permission. Unsurprisingly, this landed him the Brigg (Navy jail). But Bobby's warm personality and easygoing nature led to him being appointed as a trustee. He eventually took on the role of in-house D.J., spinning records for the other sailors. His favorites- Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin- were played often. As Bobby liked to say, "I had a captive audience, so nobody complained."

During his lifetime, Bob was married and divorced six times. He has two children, and two grandchildren, and has lived in New York, California, Chicago, Nevada, and even Norway.

Professionally, Bobby's favorite role was that of Purchasing Agent/Buyer in the aerospace industry. He strived to be "N,P, & I" (Neat, Precise, and Instrumental)- a term a former Supervisor used for ideal work habits. Being "NP&I" worked well for Bob, as he was very right-angles and one to everything in its place with as little clutter as possible.

Outside of work, Bob was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to the New York Yankees and the Raiders. He played in bowling leagues and on company soft ball teams and would go out dancing during the weekends. Later in life he preferred to stay in with the company of loved ones, watch movies, listen to music, and cook meals he grew up with for all to enjoy.

When Bobby was almost seventy years old, he taught himself to use an iMac computer and started streaming music; he created over 200 mix CD's which he used as gifts for those he loved.

Bobby avoided drama at all costs and had zero tolerance for nonsense. One of his Cousins even nicknamed him "Mr. Patience"- because he had a complete lack of patience for anything that disrupted a good time.

Bobby is survived by many loved ones, including his son Michael and daughter Cynthia; their Mother Mary Ann; and his grandchildren, Trevor and Claire.

He will be dearly missed by his best friend Audrey and her family, his close friends Chris and Wyona, his maternal Cousins, who always called him the "Cool Cousin"- including Ron, Louise, Richard, Tommy, Michael, Elena, Tony, Mary, John, Joannie, Vince, and Teri- as well as his Carrizzo Cousins, Al and Richie, with whom he reconnected later in life after growing up together.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, all of the Aunts and Uncles he grew up with and loved, and bt three ex-wives.

In accordance with his wishes, Bobby was cremated without a funeral service. Instead, he asked that when the time is right, his Cousins gather together, bring their homemade specialties, play the mix CDs he created, raise a glass, and remember that he's there with them in spirit. At a later date, Militiary Honors will be scheduled for the benefit of his family. Bobby supported several charities which he believed in including St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Wounded Warrior Project.

To honor Bobby, do what he would want to do... Spend time with the people you love, hug them, kiss them, listen to Elvis, Frank, or Dean. Raise a glass. Eat something homemade. And openly share your joy and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.
