Lori Hopkins

June 23, 1983 — June 21, 2025

Lori Lynn Hopkins, age 41, of Pahrump, Nevada, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones just two days before her 42nd birthday. She was born on June 23, 1983, in Martin, South Dakota, to Robert and Sarah (Haynes) Hopkins.

Lori spent her early years between South Dakota and Nevada, attending various elementary schools in both Martin and Pahrump. She attended Bennett County Junior High in Martin for middle school and graduated from Pahrump Valley High School in Pahrump, Nevada, with the class of 2001. Throughout her school years, Lori was a talented and passionate athlete, participating in golf, basketball, softball, volleyball, track and field, and cheerleading. One of her proudest accomplishments was being a member of the 1997 Girls Golf State Championship Team. Her legacy as an athlete was honored when she was inducted into the Pahrump Valley High School Hall of Fame in 2009- a recognition that meant so much to her and her family. She went on to attend both UNLV and Great Basin College, where she pursued higher education before making the heartfelt decision to pause her degree in order to raise and care for her children.

Lori dedicated many years to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom, during which she also ran a home daycare for nine years, providing a loving and safe space for many local families. As her children grew older, she began working at the Nevada Southern Detention Center, before transferring to Nye County School District as a paraprofessional, a role she took on proudly to match her schedule with her kids'. She remained there until her illness made it too difficult to continue.

Lori lived a life filled with love, strength, and an unshakeable spirit. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Andrew Briscoe; her grandparents, Russell and Norma Hopkins, Lucille Haynes and WIlliam and Bonnie Haynes.

She is survived by her children- sons, Christopher Briscoe, Cameron Briscoe, and Caden Briscoe, and stepdaughter Alyvia Briscoe, who were the light of her life and the center of her world. Lori also leaves behind her parents, Robert and Sarah Hopkins; her brothers, Rob (Jennifer) Hopkins, Jeremy (Mary) Hopkins, and Jack (Edna) Hopkins; her sister Darla (Steven) Sheppard; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored her.

Lori will be remembered for her vibrant personality, fierce love for her family, and her ability to light up any room with her presence. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her children, her family, and everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

She was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words.
