Rashad Abdullah

Rashad Nasif Abdullah, age 70 passed away in the early morning hours of May 11th, 2025, in Henderson, Nevada surrounded by love and family. Rashad was born in Florida to Irene Smith Ackies and John D. Rockefeller on May 14th, 1954.

Whether you knew Rashad as the Candy man, Maintenance man, or Uncle Rashad (as he was known to all of his children's friends), you knew he always had a smile on his face.  He had a love of knowledge and could tell stories for days about the ancient Egyptians and history in general. He loved to cook probably as much as he loved to dance.  He would not hesitate at a red light to get out of  of one of the many cars he owned over the years and do a lil dancey  dance!   He was a fierce protector, provider, and his door was always open to those who needed him.

Rashad is preceded in death by his parents John and Irene, his brother's Frederick and Rufus, and sister Dorothy, and his son Bilal.

He is survived in death by his former wife Tina; and their children, Sereina, Irene, and Felicia; his brother Lawson and sisters Daisy, Joanne, Carrie, and Mildred; 8 grandchildren,  Kyanice, Brianna, Amaya, Alijah, Ilenna, Zionna, Lenel (LJ), and Rashad Jay; and his best friend of many years Matt.

God took the strength of a mountain , The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun , The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature , The comforting arm of night , The wisdom of the ages , The power of the eagles flight, The joy of a morning in spring , The faith of a mustard seed, The  patience of eternity , The depth  of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, When he knew there was nothing more to add, He knew his masterpiece was complete  , and so, He called it ....Dad     -Unknown
